Serri, shown here as an adolescent before her injury, suffered a near-fatal hemorrhage during a routine spay. Her spinal cord was deprived of oxygen, and she was left with a permanent spinal cord injury. She can get around, but she doesn’t have much control over her back legs. Below, she is shown at the hydrotherapy pool, where she exercises to strengthen her rear limb muscles.
My snakes are named Cthulhu and Severus Snake. Cthulhu is the chocolate brown striped one. He is a bold, aggressive snake who is always doing something interesting. He is a biter, and nobody handles him but me. Severus is the orange one. He is shy and passive and has never bitten anyone, but also spends most of his time hiding so he’s not as exciting to watch. These pictures were taken when they were babies. They are bigger now!
As a kid, I dreamed of owning a pony, and later a horse. It never happened. Sometimes you have to make your own dreams come true.
It took many years of saving up, but I finally bought myself a horse! His name is Acuari, and he is a PRE (Pura Raza Espanola)–often called an Andalusian. He was born in Spain and now lives in the U.S. He is a sweetheart and I love him to pieces!
